DESTINATION BERLIN: LA
BÚSQUEDA DE LA IDENTIDAD.
“Destination: Berlín”, la exposición que acoge la galería 1ªspace
(Honk Kong) comisariada por Susana López Fernández propone como eje del
discurso un emplazamiento, la ciudad de Berlín, entendido como repositorio de
nuestro imaginario colectivo que permite dialogar a las artistas que conforman
la muestra sobre la especificidad geográfica, la trasgresión cultural y la
construcción de la identidad.

Seis mujeres heterogéneas que transitan por un mismo espacio de intercambio y que dan lugar a una conversación que va identificando afinidades y diferencias. En este caso, Berlín configura un modelo geográfico que nos permite reflexionar sobre la identidad desde una perspectiva expandida que incluye conceptos como la libertad, el nomadismo, el paisaje, la confrontación público/privado, la construcción de la subjetividad, el “otro”, la distancia.
Seis mujeres heterogéneas que transitan por un mismo espacio de intercambio y que dan lugar a una conversación que va identificando afinidades y diferencias. En este caso, Berlín configura un modelo geográfico que nos permite reflexionar sobre la identidad desde una perspectiva expandida que incluye conceptos como la libertad, el nomadismo, el paisaje, la confrontación público/privado, la construcción de la subjetividad, el “otro”, la distancia.
Uno de los principales atractivos de “Destination: Berlin” es el de
arrojar una mirada que no busca ni la asimilación ni la traducción, una mirada
mestiza que evidencia la lábil frontera entre exclusión e integración.
Además, “Destination: Berlin” es una invitación a superar lo que Appadurai denomina “geografías características”; esto es, nos empuja a ampliar nuestra manera de entender el mundo y a disolver los estereotipos sobre las personas que lo habitan.

Su presentación en Honk Kong de la mano de la galería 1ªspace, nos
brinda la oportunidad de que se produzcan nuevas interpretaciones sobre este
conjunto de obras vinculadas entre sí a través de las ideas de emplazamiento e
identidad.

DESTINATION BERLIN: THE SEARCH OF IDENTITY
“Destination: Berlin”, the exhibition curated
by Susana López F that takes place at the 1st Space gallery (Honk Kong),
proposes Berlin as axis of the discourse, the city of Berlin, understood as
repository of our collective imaginary, which allow the artists to set up a
dialogue about the specific geographical position, cultural transgression and
the creation of identity.

One of the main attractions of “Destination: Berlin” is to have a
look that does not search for the assimilation nor the translation, a mixed
look that evidences the thin line between exclusion and integration.
Besides, “Destination Berlin” is an invitation to overcome what Appadurai calls “geographic characteristics” ; that is, impels us to widen up our way of understanding the world and to dissolve the stereotypes about the people who inhabit it.
